It's not easy! That doesn't mean you can't try. I am desperately trying to hold on to the last of my remaining purple sprouting broccolli. The slugs chomped merrily on half of the crop. I have about 15 plants left - half of these have been partly munched. Currently they are still in pots, in a crate, surrounded by straw (apparently good to keep the snails and slugs away), covered by netting (apparently the birds like brassicas), and . . . . . . . someone is still munching them!!!
Grwoing my own food is turning into an all out war and I don't like it. I have considered a barbed wire fence, which, let's be fair is verging on the ridiculous. So it's down to slug pellets.
It's a violent game this gardening malarkey!!!
